The Republican congresswoman has suggested that extraterrestrial visitors may actually be 'fallen angels'.
It turns out that JD Vance is not the only American politician with alternative views about the nature of visitors from other worlds - Rep. Lauren Boebert also recently expressed very similar opinions.

In a short video she recently recorded while sitting in her car, Boebert talked about the UFO phenomenon while expressing her thoughts based on her personal religious beliefs.

"[It's] always been something in my mind to say, 'Well, how can we be the only ones?' Like, God's not going to stop creating just with us," she said.

"The more I look into this, the more I see the Old Testament and what was told to us there, of fallen angels, and Nephilim. [There is ] nothing that says that fallen angels, that Nephilim just disappeared."

"And so I believe that this could be an aspect of it."
"I do believe that this is more spiritual and, if you really want to go there, demonic."

Boebert's comments are not dissimilar to those of Vice President JD Vance who sparked controversy recently when he suggested that UFOs were being piloted by 'demons'.

"I don't think they're aliens," he told Benny Johnson during a podcast interview.

"I think they're demons anyway, but that's a longer discussion."

"I mean every great world religion, including Christianity, the one that I believe in, has understood that there are weird things out there, and there are things that are very difficult to explain."

Well, I've seen many religious people for many years say the same thing on different forums and YT, that believe exactly what Lauren B. is repeating. Way before she ever said anything about this nonsense. We have a senior family member on my husband's side that believes this too, because of her religious upbringing. So I don't think it's in the minority like you may think. And to me, this is why these sly politicians are running with that kind of nonsense.  They got the numbers from surveys, so they know.  Yes I know, but my perception is telling me people are not going to fell good by 2028 ... What exactly is a fallen angel? I think the Bible is the only book these people have ever read.  They seem to have a special language that  just parrots everything in the Bible which makes them uninteresting, a bore . I have a neighbor who believes the Bible is “complete” and reading other books is out of the question.

the majority of folk couldn't give a s--t about ufos & aliens- most are not the slightest bit interested... i'll go out on a limb here & say 'most' are not that stupid to take all this crap in, IMO?

You have spent more years in here than just about anyone, including me (20 years). Do you realize that your presence here is far stranger than that of a "true believer"? 20 years of trying to figure you and others out. Very fustrating.  Have a good day

Maybe if you had spent more time focusing on the actual cases, evidence, and claims instead of trying to psychoanalyze skeptics and turn everything into forum drama, you would understand why people remain unconvinced after all these years.

I'm here waiting for breaking news, real job done evidence. I'm hardly going to find it in a knitting & crochet forum. Which makes me ask why are the likes of your good self here if you're convinced there is something weird & wonderful going on? As an example: UM-Bot posts a new thread. Skeptics put forward an opinion going by the data in said thread OP. Often believers just jump in moaning about the skeptics replies without discussing the data in an adult, rational manner! I've given you my reason for being here. What is your reason? Just out of interest

Anyone in a position of power who spouts this sort of religious nonsense should be taken out of office and sectioned. It is just plain and simple insanity.

Yes! Well, so far for now. But gawd do asinine things like this seem to get out of control, when well-known pod-casters and then after them, politicians like this one repeat with their loud voices what a few religious fanatics have been saying for years in church from rural hometowns.  Much like the anti-vaccine crusades. That use to be a thing we would only see on a forum from one or two people every once in a great while. Then the pandemic hit and OMG!
