Mexico's mystery 'Batman' has been taping bike thieves to lamp posts

Image: AI-generated (Midjourney) The town of Lagos de Moreno in Mexico seems to have become the country's answer to Gotham City - at least, that is, if stories about its local superhero are to be believed.

According to reports, a mysterious vigilante has been attempting to deal with a spate of motorcycle thefts in the area by going after the crooks himself.

The strangeness began on June 13th when one of them was found by police officers taped to a lamp post with the wold 'thief' written on his forehead.Over the subsequent days, several more were found trussed up in a similar fashion.

As things stand, officials have been unable to determine who is responsible and some have speculated that there could be a whole gang of vigilantes as oppose to just one.

Still, it's fun to imagine that this is the work of a lone caped crusader.

Whether or not he wears a bat costume remains, for the moment at least, unknown.
