If you are not using a tripod then you should. Otherwise this is the exact effect created by a shaky camera on a light point at night. Could be 1ft from the camera or a distant star.

This object we have been watching in the sky is bigger then the rest of the stars in the sky and u can tell it moves...all these strange flying pictures are of the same object...sometimes there are smaller ones with it that I try to get a picture of as well...I try my best to set my camera on a still surface each time but sometimes there is no time or I have no still surface...for some reason I can feel them out there...then I will go look and grab my camera...
