As we have seen, regional flooding is not unknown. Similar stories around the world do not proce the floods took place at the same time. Study of deposits can show when flooding occurred and where. Even the Ark story has changed over the years, based on new research.

It really depeds on your beliefs. Most christians would believe that God is able to do absolutly anything. Was there really a "Great Flood"? I believe it will always be an unexplained mystery, and scientists should stop trying! There could have been an ark, but it would be completely impossible to fit two of each animal into it. The story must have its mistakes.

I believe it will always be an unexplained mystery, and scientists should stop trying! Why shouldn't what is evidentally pure mythology be debunked? If a many wants to believe mythology, it is his right, but he shouldn't expect others to accept it or debunk it...as I pointed out before, it is very obviously impossible without the natural laws being waived for this to happen and there is no evidence that these laws have ever been waived or suspended even for a moment.

There are a lot of illusions about what words actually mean in the Bible. The word translated as 'earth' has nothing to do with what we call the third planet from our sun. This word, which implied the existence of human, plant and animal life on dry land, could not have included the polar regions, swamps, bogs or everglades, tidal regions, mountainous areas above the tree line, or anything to do with water.
