With the recent discovery of large amounts of water on the moon NASA are keener than ever to get back there and establish a permanant base on the lunar surface, but what exactly would the world's first moon base be like ?
Nasa's hopes of creating a permanently crewed moon base may have taken one giant leap forward with the discovery of water, but scientists still need to decide how to build such a lunar outpost.

The most likely initial moon base would involve astronauts moving pressurised, prefabricated modules on to the surface and connecting them to create a network of rooms, as was done with the International Space Station. In time, lunar rock and dirt could eventually be used to make materials for a more ambitious structure. That idea sounds better than the "bouncy castle" although that too does seem itself pretty interesting. Exciting stuff

I think they will look more like this... http://www.binisystems.com/ In 1964 Dante N Bini built the first hemispherical thin shell structure by pneumatically and automatically lifting all the necessary construction materials, which were distributed horizontally over a pneumatic form anchored to a circular ring beam, from ground level into an hemispherical dome. After the initial ground preparation was finished, that concrete thin shell structure was built in 60 minutes. Space City Construction Documentary http://www.binisystems.com/spacecity.html

The United States Army made plans for a lunar outpost in the 1960's: Project Horizon US Army Lunar Outpost The Air Force also had a plan: Lunex Project Since ABMA and Von Braun designed the Saturn V, and also did work on Horizon, perhaps the question should be, "What will the second or third moon base look like?".
