Was the New York UFO a bunch of balloons?

It is believed that the object sighted above New York a few days ago was actually a bunch of balloons.
Hundreds of people in the Big Apple took to the streets to observe the peculiar object hovering high above the city, now however it has been revealed that a bunch of balloons was accidently released from a school at around the same time.

A school in a New York City suburb says it is likely responsible for the unidentified objects in the sky that caused quite a stir in the city. The school says the objects that looked like lights could be balloons that were accidentally let go.

You are mistaken, but I wouldn't want to float over New York either if I was an Atmospheric Plasma! Just Kidding! Atmospheric plasma is created by the electrical or thermal ionization of a gas, and is used to clean lots of lab equipment and modify chemical groups. What are you guys talking about? How could it be floating over NY?

Yes. Pictures, videos, all kinds of verifiable scientific analysis. If you do a search of the forums for posts by UM member Badeskov, you'll find a ton of information about this phenomena. Give this post a read, for example. More information about this can be found by looking into the Hessdalen lights (There are other links as well, but this one has several embedded videos) and even by reading the Executive Summary released by the UK's MoD. Here is a very thorough report from the researches involved as well. That plasma based UAP exists is pretty much undeniable. Cheers. Has anyone actually ca... [More]

Has anyone actually captured real evidence? Like captured this plasma in a jar and analyzed it (If it can be done). Or has only photos, video and hear say been the only evidence? I can't find anything about it on google. Do you see the portions of my post that are underlined? They are underlined because they are links which you can click on to go review more information. Enjoy...

Do you see the portions of my post that are underlined? They are underlined because they are links which you can click on to go review more information. Enjoy... I did read them, just not sure if I understand correctly. Some of the links provided by badeskov didn't lead anywhere, so I'm not sure if I missed anything from those links. So the evidence they have is magnetic readings, and pictures? Or did I miss something from those other links? I am honestly curious about this, seeing as this could be scientific evidence that all these UFO sightings are not little green men. But either way, I don... [More]

But either way, I don't believe these pictures are of 'plasma', I still think they are balloons. All the evidence of plasma has shown it moves, a lot, and this was still. No problem D... [More]

No problem Disbeliever, some links have a tendency to be short-lived. I agree with you that the majority of the NYC sightings were balloons, but the one that Archer mentioned and that is pictured in one of the articles could very well be an atmospheric plasma. Phil Klass was one of the first really strong proponents of plasma as a valid explanation for many UFO sightings. So you might look for some of his material as well as the huge amount of research at Hessdalen. In terms of remaining still, plasma most definitely can. The videos I linked above have mention of that, I distinctly recall. Pla... [More]

Were you aware that Phil Klass threw out plasma in the late 1960s? Quietly abandoned is a more accurate deion, and this was just because so many other "leading UFO researches" claimed his thoughts were "unscientific". It is even more notable that his thoughts and ideas have been developed by others into the most viable explanation for UFO phenomena available today. Hessdalen has the data, and J Allen Hynek himself visited the place personally. Pretty solid vindication if you ask me... Another notable thing about Klass was his UFO curse: THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF PHILIP J. KLASSTo ufologis... [More]

Again, it seems to be Occam's Beard*; the prosaic explanation can't possibly be the correct one, it must be something more exciting. Even if it's not ET, hypothesise that old favourite, some Secret Military Experiment.* the opposite of Occam's Razor I've got to agree with you here. We are constantly given recurring explanations (balloons, optical illusions from planets, etc) to explain away UFO's for a reason -- it's actually what we're seeing. The fact that we're hearing the same thing over-and-over shouldn't raise doubt or start conspiracies, it should solidify that it's the truth.
