Doctors were shocked to discover a safety-pin in the sinus cavity of a 6-year-old girl.
Her parents had taken her to a doctor to be checked out following bouts of ill-health, doctors will soon be operating to remove the pin through the roof of her mouth, it is thought she must have put the safety pin up her nose at some point where it got lodged and later worked its way open.
For years, 6-year-old Alexis McCarter has been plagued by headaches, nose bleeds and ear infections. Her parents took her to doctor after doctor, but there wasn't a medical explanation for the problems until recently.
