Are we currently in a 6th mass extinction ?

When the first humans came over across the straight and down into the greater North American continent they hunted the various species into extinction. Apparently horses actually got their wee beginnings here in the Americas, and spread over to the other places via that same land bridge. What about the bees, bats, frogs, salamanders and on and on. If there is no trunk in the tree of life will it really take 300 years? I don't think so. Seems to be here now. The large animals will be the most noticeable....at first.

Mormons did not know that horses used to exist in the prehistoric times on the american continents. And of course the Aztecs wouldn't know a horse when they saw them during the times of Spanish invasion... the prehistoric horse ancestors were wiped out by their prehistoric ancestors.

I believe they mean.. since the dinosaurs (who died in some other manner) Every other extinction has happened since Man evolutionary steps. Humans wiped out a number of the megafaunas, a huge number of birds in New Zealand and other pacific islands.. Wiped out dolphin species.. Various animals from Australia.. The extinction of Pleistocene megafauna cannot be attributed to just one cause, especially not human hunting alone. Temperature and climate change probably affected those species more than the miniscule number of homo-sapiens that existed on the planet in those days.
