Dr Bill Ritchie who helped clone Dolly the sheep is now working on cloning the rare Scottish wildcat.
Wildcats are thought to have a population as few as 400 left in the wild and cloning may be their last hope. Diseases, interbreeding with domestic animals and a loss of habitat are just some of the factors blamed on their decline in numbers.
A scientist who was involved in cloning Dolly the sheep 15 years ago has started work on a new technique to clone rare Scottish wildcats. Embryologist Dr Bill Ritchie said the project could help protect the species which is thought to number about 400 cats in the wild.

I wonder how easy it is to clone something for this guy? The way Dolly was written about, it always sounded like she was a fluke, but it can't be cheap to clone them can it?
