A 1,100-year-old tomb containing the remains of 60 people has been discovered in Peru.
It is thought that the remains were those of people who had been killed as sacrificial offerings to the gods of the Sican culture and then buried in the pit that was over 8m deep and 150m across. Some of the dead appeared to have been beheaded while others showed signs of being dropped from a great height.
A tomb containing the 'perfectly intact' remains of 60 people - who were slaughtered in sacrificial offerings more than 1,100 years ago - has been discovered in Peru.
