CIA acknowledges existence of Area 51

Image Credit: Wikipedia Long thought to be a hotbed for black projects, military testing and possibly even the location of captured UFOs, Area 51 in Nevada is often considered to be the most infamous secret base in the world. Now however the veil has been formally lifted thanks to newly released CIA documents that confirm the base's existence and provide details of what went on there.

According to the files, the base was used primarily as a testing ground for projects including the U-2 and OXCART aerial surveillance programs.
