You better believe it. That show was a HOOT! I bought that board back about 8 years ago. Best board I've ever owned and I love it almost as much as my wife. Hopefully it will be the last board I ever own... except for the Alesis Fusion that I'm getting next week. One keyboard is just not enough for me anymore.
Hey, Fusions are nice sounding boards with a lot of sound sculpting potential. Are you going for a 6HD or 8HD?Just hope you don't get a buggy one, it's kinda hit and miss (too bad Alesis released them unfinished, then dropped updating the OS).I'd recommend an Oasys, but since you have a Triton already you'd have too much overlap in sounds.Sorry, I could blab about this all day long.
Sorry, I could blab about this all day long. LOL - so could I!!!I have no idea what's in the Alesis. My guitar player has one that he never uses and he's selling it to me for $600.00 (fair price?).I've got another friend that uses one for his Pink Floyd tribute band and his is AMAZING!. He can't wait for me to get mine so he can download all his sounds into mine. You can hear some of his band here - Childhood's End - click on the video link to see them in action. They have one of the most impressive stage shows I've ever seen, including national act...
You can never have too much gear lol, I've been looking at the Alesis for awhile now but unfortunatly for me I don't have £700 to spend lol.I'm using softsynths at the moment, they're cool but they just don't have quite the same sound as hardware synths.
Oh, hell yeah! That's a very reasonable price for a barely used Fusion. This is definitely a programmer's board. I really like the FM and PM sounds you can get, especially the FM. And the massive sampler section, well, what more can you say?The only thing I wasn't really blown away with was the VA section. It really does sound good, but the filters didn't quite sound as good as those on the Ion (which the Fusion is supposed to have). But that's simply personal taste, it still sounds a helluva lot better than most VAs out there. This board can keep you busy for the rest o...
One little OT thing here; why does everyone over-compress their recordings these days? I know a lot of people like that, but don't you think it takes too much dynamics out of an otherwise excellent performance?I agree with that. I always make sure that I keep all my original recordings in their raw format. Even then I still prefer the good ol' sound of analog. Much warmer.
