Sunshine could protect from colds and flus

One of the best ways to prevent catching a cold could be to get more sunshine, a new study has suggested.
People fighting off winter colds and bouts of the flu typically reach for a glass vitamin C-packed orange juice, but new research suggests that vitamin D may be a better protector. People with low levels of the vitamin, which is often called the sunshine vitamin because sun exposure triggers its production in the body, are more likely to catch colds, the flu, and even pneumonia, a broad new study reports. The effect was magnified in people with asthma or other lung diseases."

Are they only just realising this? seriously I thought this was common fact already. of course our bodies need sunlight, not to mention the prevention of shingles. well I'm surprised they are stating this as recent studies. Any one else agree? -Sam

Ironically I often sneeze when I go outside because of the burst of sunlight in my eyes.

Wow. This is sure an interesting discovery for natural medical feat. This would mean encouraging babies and olderly to at least take a short exposure from the morning sunshine. Exactly! I read somewhere else too that people need sunshine and sunlight, our body needs it like plants need it. People who get less sunshine and sunlight are sicker. It's unnatural for people to live inside like we do in this society in the past before modern society, most people spent most of their time outside every day.
