Three-year-old Liam Hoekstra is unlike other kids his age, he suffers from a rare genetic condition that gives him enlarged muscles and makes him super-strong. Already he can move furniture and lift five-pound weights.
A three-year-old Michigan boy is super-strong. He can move furniture, hold five-pound weights, and do sit-ups with ease. But Liam Hoekstra, of Roosevelt Park, appears to have a rare genetic condition -- one that presents special challenges to him and his parents, Medical Correspondent Dr. Jennifer Ashton said Thursday."

Because of his fast metabolism, Liam needs to eats constantly, as many as six meals a day to avoid a caloric deficit. Now that is awful. Most of my money goes out on food because I eat huge amounts without gaining any weight. Can you imagine if he already eats 6 meals a day at age 3 how much it would be when he goes into puberty.

It sounds like Richard Sandrak (AKA Little Hercules) who was in the documentary The World's Strongest Boy, has the same condition. It would be interesting to see if these kids retain their strength into old age. My guess is that there are far more kids around with this condition than is being reported - and why haven't any girls been discovered? Are they not extra strong, or are the parents just not as proud of strong baby girls?

I guess the message is, don't pick on this kid in the playground.

With trained, professional docters generally becoming more wide spread and common throughout the world, plus the growing accessibility of communications (internet). It's only natural that cases like these are found and reported on more frequently.
