SETI chief claims alien contact within 20 years

Another fallacy in assuming that intelligent aliens use the same form of communication as us.

I bet we find Intelligent contact before Bush finds it.

this will be covered up and swept under the rug in no time. If by that you mean that the findings of NASA's Kepler space telescope will be hushed up, I don't believe that anyone would dispute that. But it's too late for Seti's chief Astronomer to retract. It's a matter of universal record now. Mind you, in retrospect, that's what happened at Roswell, so who knows.

Another fallacy in assuming that intelligent aliens use the same form of communication as us. I don't think that Seti ever implied that. Communication doesn't rely merely on the spoken word. Many humans cannot communicate by language alone. I don't understand Japanese, but it wouldn't stop me from communicating with someone from Japan. Sign language, facial expressions and nuance in tone cane be just as valid in communicating.

I think that it's a topic of discussion and interest that is never gonna cease BaneSilvermoon, until we get some answers. The internet and forums are awash with debate on the subject. One can't get away from it, and few want to. Human curiousity being what it is it's perhaps understandable.

We have been to planet earth many times through out the centuries and one thing with the humans remains constant. You are a barbaric species, many whose goal in life is to is to treat your fellow man badly. Some of you have "seen the light" and may get a chance to be taken to meet other intelligent civilizations. The rest will remain on earth,kill yourselves off and then we'll move in and build a large putt-putt course.
