A new discovery in to the way birds breathe has revealed that it is unlikely that modern birds descended from theropod dinosaurs, bringing further doubt to the connection between meat-eating dinosaurs and birds.
Researchers at Oregon State University have made a fundamental new discovery about how birds breathe and have a lung capacity that allows for flight – and the finding means it's unlikely that birds descended from any known theropod dinosaurs."

a theory is something that is proposed on it's way to being a law. theories can be argued against. in the case of relitivity it works up until you hit the speed of light and stops working. Sadly no matter or information has been ever found to go faster then the speed of light. So it's perfectly fine if a theory only works in the frameworks of reality.

a theory is something that is proposed on it's way to being a law. theories can be argued against. in the case of relitivity it works up until you hit the speed of light and stops working. a law is something that cannot usually be argued against such as the law of gravity or the laws of motion. Wrong on both counts. I should point out that I'm only posting now for the benefit of other people who you may have misled; as you've failed to understand the dozens of other explanations given to you I don't expect you to catch on now. A scientific theory is a well tested explanation of how a collectio... [More]

They simply draw conclusions using the scientific method Don't you mean jump to? You have to admit that scientists do an awful lot of filling in the blanks and then trying to pass it as close to the fact train as they can get away with. So, we have two options: Science: A. A self-correcting, self-improving way of thinking that indifferently and coldly analyzes the world around us using a rational, evidence-based process to draw indefinite conclusions. Religion: B. A dogmatic, absolute way of thinking that never corrects itself and falsely claims to know absolutes. Why must we choose an option?... [More]

Wow daniel that is an impressive level of wrongness. You have out done yourself here. Especially since this has been explained to you so many times over the last year .

Then tell me why is abiogenesis has to be right and genesis has to be wrong? because one has nothing to do with god and the other one does?? Which one is taught as truth in school? Because one is impossible as written and the other is very logical. The Greeks said Zeus threw lightning bolts with his hands. Does that make it true? It sounds pretty silly, because it is. Not all lightning strikes originate on Mt. Olympus. Abiogensis makes perfect sense, especially when considering archaea that live in the most harsh climates and places the earth has to offer. Some live 2 1/2 miles deep in the oce... [More]

Don't you mean jump to? No, I don't. Actually, I misspoke. There are no conclusions in Science. Thus, scientists cannot jump to any. Why must we choose an option? You can either make a decision irrationally or rationally. You can't really make a decision "half-rationally". It is true that you can split your decisions, and think of some rationally and some irrationally. However, a scientist should ALWAYS be thinking rationally if they are to objectively study their field. For example, if I was a scientist, and I believed the irrational decision that the universe was created 6,000 years ago, the... [More]

thats kinda disappointing i thought it was cool the idea of the birds i see today could have had T rex as a great great great great great (etc for awhile) great grand parent Unfortunately, that was never the case. Scientists have almost always agreed that birds and dinosaurs shared a very close common ancestor, but of course the chicken isn't directly descended from the T-rex. This discovery may push the common ancestor back a little; that is all. Cheers, SQLserver

Basically, scientists have known for a LONG time that birds did not come from conventional dinosaurs. Instead, they were closely related. Over 3,000 years. Even the Egyptians understood this.
