Stephen Hawking talks evolution

Stephen Hawking has said that mankind has entered a new phase of evolution, one in which the external transmission of information should be taken in to account as much as the traditional Darwinian model.
Although it has taken homo sapiens several million years to evolve from the apes, the useful information in our DNA, has probably changed by only a few million bits. "

Interesting article, makes me wonder what kind of genetic enhancements I'd like to have; perhaps to live hundreds of years for the accumulation of knowledge and exploration of the universe.
