Astronomers find rocky extrasolar planet

Astronomers have discovered a rocky extrasolar planet orbiting a distant star that is 1.5 times the size of the Earth but that orbits so close to its sun that the temperature on the surface can measure up to 2,327 degrees Celsius.
An international team of astronomers on the Third Rock from the sun gives you the best evidence yet for a rocky planet — not too much bigger than Earth — orbiting another star. The planet is called CoRoT-7b. And it appears to have a sibling super-Earth, CoRoT-7c, though much less is known about it.

But any vague resemblance stops there. Oh! oh by the way, I like the sound factor...and I think thats the only thing that interested me

I like how they make these kinds of "big" reports on completely uninteresting planets. Sure, the size is about right, but the planet would only actually mean anything to us... if we evolved into a fire-resistant race of super-humans. Or built extremely advanced spacesuits and ships so we could make a colony there. But... everything we are interested in researching would be ashes, or well, not even ashes :S
