A police officer contacted British UFO experts after seeing three aliens examining a freshly made crop circle near Avebury, Wiltshire. The sergeant, who has not been named, was off-duty when he saw the figures standing in a field near Silbury Hill, and stopped his car to investigate.

What give this man so much credibility? The last time a cop claimed anything supernatural it turned out to be a hoax. this prompts a thought. I presume you're referring to the Socorro thing; but when a cop claimed to be responsible for a hoax (e.g. Rendlesham), then that's grasped eagerly, by some, as the rational explanation. So do people decide whether to believe the word of an officer of the law if one wants to, then?

Actually I was referring to the bigfoot in a freezer thing, If I recall correctly, one of them was a cop right?

The only witness I consider more credible than all the others is good old Mr. RADAR. RADAR doesn't care about its 15 minutes of fame, it doesn't care about money and has never claimed to have been abducted. RADAR says "Look at this...there's a thing, I cannot identify it, it's definitely an object because I can see it...and its flying"

"To me it sounds like someone going for his 15 minutes fame." Pretty hard to be famous when you're anonymous.

There is no shortage of attention seekers and no shortage of people willing to believe outrageous claims.

There is no shortage of attention seekers and no shortage of people willing to believe outrageous claims. Ahem...As said earlier, the officer has decided to remain anonymous. The spotlight, in this case, seems to be shining on someone who is behind the curtain - not in front of it.

Some attention seekers derive satisfaction from stirring stuff up and watching from a distance. True enough however this story will not garner the attention it doesn't deserve and thats ok by me. His story is quite weak to say the least. Some aliens ran off at the sight of him LOL

In all seriousness however, everyone has a sense of "thing not being right" to a certain extent. I know I've joked about this story...but there could have been something in the way those 'people' ran off. Since, as a copper, he would have seen people cheese at all the time. Maybe it was a sort of blurry, being propelled rather than running motion he witnessed, like without any acceleration or anything. It was just a thought - I'm still sticking with a very much Human explanation for this one.

It was just a thought - I'm still sticking with a very much Human explanation for this one. Of course. There is no compelling reason to think otherwise. Did the officer ever say why he was there in the first place?
