A tourist has been killed at Fish Hoek beach in Cape Town after being eaten by a "dinosaur sized" great white shark.
In a scene reminiscent of Steven Spielberg's movie blockbuster Jaws the Zimbabwean tourist was pulled under and dragged out to sea in view of horrified onlookers by what one witness described as a "gigantic, dinosaur huge" shark.
A Zimbabwean tourist was eaten by a “dinosaur-sized” shark in South Africa’s most popular holiday destination. Witnesses described watching as a man was pulled under the surf and dragged out to sea off Fish Hoek beach in Cape Town. They described seeing the shark carrying the man’s body in his mouth, turning the sea the colour of blood as it did so.

I find it odd a shark longer than a mini bus when unnoticed in chest height water I find it odd to hear a man being eaten by something the size of a Turkey....

THIS IS REDICULOUS! LOL I live a few miles away from Fishoek and I know for a fact that the shark that bit the Zimbabwean was no DINOSAUR SIZED SHARK! It was 4 about metres long. NOW WHO's the idiot that over exaggerated this?

Poor guy. You would think the beach authorities would have pulled people out if they knew sharks were present. Anyway, 4m, 20m, 6m - that's still one big mouth full of teeth.

NOW WHO's the idiot that over exaggerated this? So much more likely. 4m whites are not uncommon in Cape Town. Seen the down the round in Gaansbaai.

I wasn't there...so the deions of eye witness's is all there is to go by. Are they credible? who knows...but I do know this...if you see a large fish swimming with a human leg or arm hanging out his mouth...and it is a shark it would be really easy to make a 'monster' out a replay you have in your mind. Like I said...I was not there...maybe it was an extremely huge white...but then maybe fear increased the size of the shark. At any rate...I feel sorry for the poor guy and his family...that would be a terrible way to die... seax

Wow...how tragic for his partner, not to mention the rest of their families. I wonder why the flag wasn't up if sharks had been spotted in the vicinity earlier?
