New research suggests that some bacteria is actually a lot more adept at complex decision making than believed.
When you think of bacteria the level of intelligence it can exhibit is not something that immediately springs to mind however new research has revealed that certain types of bacteria are a lot better at making decisions than others.
Bacteria are a lot smarter in complex decision-making than believed, new research says. Gladys Alexandre, associate professor of biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology at University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UT-K), decided to look at Azospirillum brasilense, the more complex soil bacterium than the common bacteria Escherichia coli (E. coli)

that white blood cell is also a form of bacteria. No it is not, it is a eukaryotic cell, not a prokaryotic cell and its make up is very different.

This bacteria might have been smart, but one thing is certain... ...it wasn't smart enough to outrun that white blood cell, and was probably delicious. Kinda reminds me of the movie The Blob

I always figured we were just a kind of bus for transporting them around- kinda like go-al-lul in Stargate. Live long, and happy friends...

they operate like bacteria do they consume what ever they attack like a bacteria does. Well if you want to go like that, why not just throw all labeling out the window? Juncos and Dwarf Hamsters are both of similar color and they both eat seeds. Thus Dwarf Hamster = Junco

That doesn't make them a bacteria, being a single celled organism doesn't make it it a bacteria. Being a member of... [More]
