As if kickstarting mainstream space tourism wasn't enough Sir Richard Branson is now looking to conquer the ocean's depths.
The plan is to offer a service to take tourists down in to the ocean's depths starting with a new vehicle being designed called the "Necker Nymph" that can submerge down to 40m. The long term goal will be to offer trips to depths of up to 11km such as those found at the Pacific Mariana Trench.
Sir Richard Branson hopes to build an underwater 'plane' that will be able to explore the bottom of the world's deepest oceans. A £415,000 carbon-fibre winged prototype, called the Necker Nymph, is already being developed that can submerge to depths of 130ft (40m).
