A Scottish man has filmed a strange orange ball-shaped UFO in the skies above East Dunbartonshire.
The object appeared to be quite large and at a fair distance away, travelling in a straight line. The man said be had ruled out aircraft and chinese lanterns as possible explanations for the sighting.
A viewer has contacted STV with footage of what they describe as a mysterious object in the sky over Lennoxtown in East Dunbartonshire. Retired railway engineer George Donnan, who lives in the town, shot footage of an object he described as a bright orange light in the skies over the town, located at the foot of the Campsie hills near Glasgow.

I highly doubt he gauged the size and distance of the object at all accurately. The footage looks like a Chinese lantern, the deion of its behaviour sounds like a Chinese Lantern. This object is very likely a Chinese Lantern. As an interesting note, at New Years my famly lit a Chinese Lantern and let it go, and by golly, it looked just like one of these UFO's do, it was uncanny. It even caused some panic in the local area. At an upcoming birthday of a family member, we're planning on releasing 20+ of the things into the sky, and see what happens.

I saw something similar one night when watching up on the stars. A light bulb in the sky, first it looked like a star, didnt move, and then it started to move really fast, fading off and and back again, and then flew away and faded. My mobile camera couldn't catch it on footage(to dark). Later on I saw one more of those. The sky was clear, no clouds. it wasnt a Chinese Lantern, I can tell you. Unless Chinese Lantern have some kinda of JET ENGINE ^^

I see this at least once a week or biweekly. I made a post about it, I'm glad someone has it on tape finally, even though it's terrible quality. I'm going to try and film it soon.

It's probably a Chinese lantern yes. What with Chinese new year just having been and all, where they release lanterns in balloons, flying around.

This guy is kidding, right? When was that camcorder made, 1973? What's with the snow? I know! It took him ages to get his act together and actually point the camera in the right direction. How hard is it to film a bright thing in the night sky that's not actually moving...or not moving very fast? That's it - I think it should be compulsory for everyone to learn how to use a video camera just incase they see a UFO, THEN we can actually see if there's evidence. At this point the only thing that links footage of ufo sitings is the shaky poor quality video, lol.
