ET contact contest produces shocking results

A contest held to find out what the general public would say to an alien has produced some unusual responses.
Some of the replies were surprisingly bleak, some participants suggested warning aliens away from the planet due to humans being 'dangerous' while others took a more positive outlook and suggested asking them to help us understand our place in the universe.
Over the years, there have been many explanations for why alien life forms – if they exist – have failed to make contact with the Earth. But after extensive research, The Daily Telegraph can unveil the real reason: they have far too much good sense.

Do you make abrupt silent turns in our atmosphere only when drunk? Vulcans would take one look at our species, and how close we were to interstellar travel, and either steer clear of us, send spies down to sabotage our space race, or they'd hire some violent species they're already friends with to kick our asses. I can imagine a Vulcan/Klingon alliance would blast us to dust. That doesn't seem like typical Vulcan behavior.

Hmmmm, WELCOME TO I-HOP! CAN I TAKE YOUR ORDER? In all seriousness, we would send Stephen Colbert, to play Crazy Frog for the alien ship/fleet. If it goes bad, at least we have an armie of mutated frogs, rats, goats, a giant woman, a bowl of jelly, and Bill Cosby, oh yea and by then we'd promote Richard Dean Anderson to a full fledged Planetary Marshal, and tell him to save us. ...as far as why they have not shown themselves as Mainstreem, its because most (Humans) arent ready yet, but it'sa commin---} This simply makes no sense. Humanity isn't "ready", yet our media embraces science fiction, space travel, and a sizable portion of the populace already believes that aliens are here, so what is all this "not ready" crap??

Darn if I know! If it acted friendly, I might try "hello". If he pointed a dangerous looking thing at me, and I don't mean "that" either, you with dirty minds I'd run like hell.

This simply makes no sense. Humanity isn't "ready", yet our media embraces science fiction, space travel, and a sizable portion of the populace already believes that aliens are here, so what is all this "not ready" crap?? Someone can understand the principles of gaseous expansion, ballistics and the mechanics behind how a handgun works, yet be completely unsuitable (and thus "not ready") to own one.
