NASA have revealed plans to send a humanoid robot to walk on the surface of the moon within 3 years.
The robot would travel to the moon in a small lander, emerge and then walk around on the surface performing a series of tasks and experiments. The plans are currently being referred to as "Project M".
Project M is a proposed project to land an operational humanoid robot on the moon in 1000 days (M is the Roman numeral for 1000). The humanoid will travel to the moon on a small lander fueled by green propellants, liquid methane and liquid oxygen.

This is a much better use of resources than a manned trip. The robot can stay for longer and do much more good for science than could a human. If designed properly. I hope this isn't bungled and we see some good coome of it.

I wonder if there still worried there's little green men up there? All the reports that aliens told them not to come back to the moon and the other report's stating that they never went there in the first place!

The one issue is time-delay for earth-based movement instructions to the robot that would not necessarily exist with actual humans. Other than that I'm all for it!!!

I can see it now, in the year 2025... I can see a Conspiracy theorists version of that picture of Artoo beaming an image of the lunar module on the moon.

The GM logo on the robot's chest is not too reassuring. If we do encounter intelligent alien life on the Moon while a robot is there, GM could have a varity of meanings. In English it can stand for General Motors or Good Morning but being the trademark of a company, I suspect NASA is being provided with either parts or funding in exchange for advertising GM.

Serious load of hype. Why? A bot in a box can get as much done...you just don't to hug it. Is NASA so desperate for some luvin'? However, if Richard C. Holgren's moon pics are real, someone already beat us to botman on the moon! C3PO...watch your back, man!

Will it debug the entire conspiracy about the first moon landing?

The GM logo on the robot's chest is not too reassuring. It's all good. In '85 it was Pepsi & Coke and now GM...The ETs never had it so good. If we do encounter intelligent alien life on the Moon while a robot is there, GM could have a varity of meanings. Ah yes the robots would appear less threatening, and probably easier to understand...speaking millions of different languages throughout the galaxy. I suspect NASA is being provided with either parts or funding in exchange for advertising GM. Supplying Hummer Moon Buggies for the bots.
