Privacy concerns raised over brain scans

Legal experts have expressed concerns over brain scanning devices being used to invade people's privacy.
Brain scans are already being used to scan death row inmates and there are plans to use them in the UK by police to determine if a suspect is lying. The concern now is that as the technology develops there is the potential for it to be exploited and misused.
The use of brain scanners must be regulated in order to prevent them being used to invade privacy and threaten civil liberties, a legal expert has warned.

Doesn't seem much different than a regular lie detector test and they don't seem to have a problem with them

Isn't a brain scan a medical procedure and isn't a medical procedure covered under privacy laws? Big brother at work.

I guess if you don't have anything to hide, it'd be fine. I personally don't like the idea of having one as I would not like to find any undiagnosed problems with my brain. That sounds quite scary to me. I know some people would prefer to know if they had something wrong, but I'm unsure on that one myself.

I believe it was Gurdjeiff (or maybe Ouspanski) who said (wrote???) people would behave in entirely different ways if they knew their time of death.
