UFO expert: "Scotland is a world hot spot"

Veteran researcher Ron Halliday has said that Scotland is one of the world's hot spots for unexplained phenomena.
"I think Scotland is like a world hot spot. All the UFO sightings. All the ghost sightings. All the monster sightings. Poltergeists," he said. "There is just so much that goes on in Scotland, it is absolutely incredible. It is very hard to explain why Scotland has all these reported incidents."
Ron became interested in UFOs from a young age and started to research it seriously when he was 30. But what is it about the unexplained which interests him and millions of others around the world?

Do we have Scottish members who frequent this part of the forum? Do you agree with this? Is there an area where you can almost be guaranteed to see UFOs if you watch for a couple of days? I want to find such a place (heard of many all over the world - one is here in Queensland, which I hope to visit on my next holiday) Does anyone want to give me a couple of million dollars so I can devote my life to UFO research and afford to make trips to places like Scotland? By the way, I find it really annoying when people use up huge spaces on threads by hitting 'Reply' to a post rather than just making ... [More]

With UFOs it's easy to discern why there has been such a rise in sightings. "James Cameron, managing director of The Glow Company, a British retailer, said lantern sales had nearly quadrupled in the past year. In 2008, the Doncaster-based firm sold 29,000 Chinese lanterns, rising to 100,000 last year, with sales peaking in July. Mr Cameron said: "They have become very fashionable in the past 18 months, helped by the buzz created by reports of UFO sightings which later transpired to be Chinese lanterns." http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/agriculture/farming/7127935/Farmers-call-for-ban-on-Chines... The man in the article is a researcher of the unexplained, not an advocate of flying saucers with orange lights on the side. Everytime there's a slight mention of Unidentified Flying Objects the more intellectually challenged jump to the mental imagery of aliens from outerspace wandering around aimlessly just to confuse people. It doesn't make any sense does it? Why not something more down to earth, like unknown animals that were widely accepted to exist *snip* Will-o'-the-wisp I was just thinking about that the other day, the Will-o-the-wisp possibly being an orb UFO. from wiki) A will-o'-the... Yes, swamp gas, when you breathe it in it effects your mind, leaving you jabbering about a light

Its only a UFO hot-spot because the media tells you it is. One or two people report something, then a few more report orange orbs...which are Chinese lanterns because the deion given by most the witnesses is something like "Looked like an orange ball of fire, it was flashing/flickering/twinkling and moved slowly across the sky until it just disappeared". Once everyone has reported their lantern sightings the press come out with the brilliant headline of "Is town X becoming a UFO heaven?" Usually coupled with a ridiculous picture of a grey alien and 1950's style flying saucer. Go Here and read ... [More]

I must agree with C87 and can't help but think that Alcohol Consumption may well have something to do with all these sightings of various paranormal Phenomena. Well either that or its a gateway to another realm.

I've seen these orange orbs about 6 of them and maybe in a lateral formation as unsure if they were triangles. They may have been! however they moved at incredible speeds and were sighted Of the south Wales coast in 2009. they were ocean located and maybe 20 miles away. 3 lights moved to the left and then at 90degrees upwards into the sky at huge speeds. the other 3 just moved off at insane speed to the right across down the Bristol channel out into the Celtic/Irish sea ( or Atlantic after that). no pictures or film footage I am afraid! I am not here to lie, i promise : )
