A 49-year-old grandmother went to bed suffering from a migraine and woke up to find that she had a French accent.
In this latest case of what is known as "Foreign Accent Syndrome" Kay Russell ended up losing her job as a sales executive due to the condition that can occur when the parts of the brain responsible for speech and word formation become damaged.
After one bad migraine, she was left with slurred speech for two weeks and made an appointment to have an MRI scan and see a neurologist. Then one day she simply woke up with a French accent.
