Experts have devised a game plan to determine how we should go about first contact with aliens.
The International Academy of Astronautics' SETI Permanent Study group voted to adopt the proposed guidelines and with the UN only recently addressing the same topic with their appointed "space ambassador" the airwaves are buzzing with questions over whether something big might be on the horizon.
The new guidelines for dealing with theoretical radio transmissions from E. T. were adopted unanimously by the International Academy of Astronautics' SETI Permanent Study group last week during a meeting in Prague, the Czech capital.

this is along the same line as post Pope's Scientist Would be Happy to Baptize an Intelligent Extraterrestrial On meeting an intelligent extraterrestrial, what should we do? We could try to communicate with it; we might even be able to understand each other -- assuming they're not too busy pounding our planet into mush. We could even try setting up some kind of alliance. It might save our race, after all. Also, we might want to baptize them should they get within water-splashing distance. Well, that's what one of the Pope's astronomers would be happy to do, if ET was willing. http://news.disco... [More]

ahahaha. Why on earth, or whatever planet their from, would an E.T. want to be baptised? An alien who had the science to travel lightyears to get here would laugh at our primitive idea of religion, or at the very least they'd have their own. Don't tell the Pope... but ET is just happy to have the free bath...

Most of the events below have happened in the past thirty days.... - The UN names Mazlan Othman as first contact for UNOOSA - The Vatican has said we are not alone in the Universe - Argentina, Brazil, France, Belgium, Mexico and the UK declassify UFO files - China comes out and says that we are being visited - The Kepler Telescope says Gliesi581g is a planet almost certain to have life - Disclosure Conference Sept 27, 2010 says aliens have turned off... Coincidence. These all point to one thing... people are interested in UFOs and ETH. And why shouldn't they be? It's important to consider in the grand scheme of things. But it doesn't mean that we are going to have any disclosure about governments and religious leaders already being in contact. Nor does it mean that ET is going to make themselves known to the general populace on their own. Coincidence. I wish I was wrong about that, I'd like to see the headline just as much as anyone else... but I just don't buy the hype. How about this though? If I'm wrong, I give every believer the right and... Why they don't save money, time and brainstorming and just recruit some UM users as embassadors? Could get payed well.

Actually the interesting part is I heard an interview with Seth Shostac, the senior astronomer of SETI, on the unexplained, a british podcast hosted by Howard Hughes, (I highly recomend this podcast, although it tends to delve into the pyschic end of things more than I would like)and according to Dr. Shostac The guys working on SETI regularly can be counted on one hand and they are all Americans. As he put it, SETI is an entirely American endevour. Seth actually said that? I may need to listen to this Podcast. I'm a little shocked he would; maybe he was feeling a little blue. I'm aware SETI is... [More]
