Seeking proof in near-death claims

Researchers in the US and UK are attempting to determine the true nature of near-death experiences.
Their experiments involve suspending a picture face-up from the ceiling above a patient to see if the patient was able to actually see the picture from above during a near-death experience.
People who have these near-death experiences often describe leaving their bodies and watching themselves being resuscitated from above, but verifying such accounts is difficult. The images would be visible only to people who had done that.

Hmmm, im trying to find where i said that. Keep trying it is in quotes.... What claim again? VP, are you doing your sophists work again? If so, no one cares to hear it. As usual. Fake claims are what you are making sir....clinical research is being done on the issue because of an obvious disparity...materialistic philosophical ideology have no longer a valid meaning...Please fell free to make false claims in support of your sophist views evidence that you are a sophist is easily identified as a result of a standard review of obvious materialist failures... You have been debunked Agent Mulder l... [More]

Can't wait for the results to come out. Most likely it will probably show near death experiences to be hallucinations, but still interesting to know for sure. Unfortunately as noted in the article the 'experiencers' don't care what people have to say, and will probably come up with some bogus excuse and explanation... I know where you're coming from. I tend to think scientists can be very arrogant when it comes to stuff at odds with their beliefs so bearing that in mind how will they be conducting their research in a neutral, unbiased manner? The people that have these experiences dont believe... [More]

I know where you're coming from. I tend to think scientists can be very arrogant when it comes to stuff at odds with their beliefs so bearing that in mind how will they be conducting their research in a neutral, unbiased manner? Not arrogant because they work in science which is facts and acceptance, not beliefs. They dont get arrogant when someone comes with a far fetched hypothesis, backed by no evidence. They just dont care. The people that have these experiences dont believe they are hallucinations so why are some scientists not listening to them? Why should they? Why should anyone believe... [More]

Not arrogant because they work in science which is facts and acceptance, not beliefs. They dont get arrogant when someone comes with a far fetched hypothesis, backed by no evidence. They just dont care. Why should they? Why should anyone believe it? Its a super subjective experience. If i told you i was visited by zeus and dionysus in my dream, claiming theyre the real gods, and theres no paranormal in the world as theyre the only ones with powers, you wouldnt believe me. Youre the same. Its just a very biased subjective experiences, backed by nothing. As of right now, thats the issue here. So... [More]

Not arrogant because they work in science which is facts and acceptance, not beliefs. They dont get arrogant when someone comes with a far fetched hypothesis, backed by no evidence. They just dont care. The easiest way to spot a biased scientist is to ask them if God exists. If they say science cant answer that question then we have an unbiased scientist. I watched a documentry yesterday on NDEs linked to Youtube off another debate on this site. The docummentry had a psychologist in it totally set in her ways saying NDEs were caused by brain chemicals. However other unbiased scientists had a c... [More]

I watched a documentry yesterday on NDEs linked to Youtube off another debate on this site. The docummentry had a psychologist in it totally set in her ways saying NDEs were caused by brain chemicals. So you are implying she had a bias? So she actually gave an answer to your bias-detection technique ie "If they say science cant answer that question [god exists] then we have an unbiased scientist." ?However other unbiased scientists had a case where a woman who was in danger of having a burst blood vessel in her head was chilled to 10C, had all blood drained from her head, was clinically dead fo... I looked. Show me. If its there, i cant find it. No problem, Page 2 post 18 Agent Mulder states... Ugh. I can see what Socrates had such great trouble dealing with the sophists. No one cares about indigenous beliefs. They can believe whatever they want. What im telling you (about the seizures) is fact. But, again your sophist mind pushes it away and runs off on a tangent with something else. I really dont care anymore. AND yes, ive heard of santeria, and voodoo. Present your words, ive made no mistake. That patients who display complex partial seizures with foci within the temporal lobes, part... [More]

All these various views and theories and philosophies can enlighten the mind, but they can also set bounderies on the mind. To me, there must be a continuum of awareness after the body has died. How can "nothing" possibly happen? "Nothing" doesn't exist.
