Neil Armstrong speaks out about moonwalk

Neil Armstrong has offered new details about the distance he travelled on the moon.
On Apollo 11's visit to the moon Armstrong and Aldrin were limited in how far they could go due to uncertainties about how long the water-cooling system on their spacesuits would last and because they were required to perform experiments in front of a fixed camera.
Apollo 11 astronaut Neil Armstrong may be notoriously private, but the first man on the moon recently reached out to a reporter to share some new details about his famous moonwalk with fellow astronaut Buzz Aldrin in 1969.

I just wanted to ask a quick question..if Neil Armstrong was the FIRST man on the moon then who was filming him?

A camera, now get this type of question off to the did we land on the moon thread

Did Neil and Buzz really walk on the moon? Yes. The question is preposterous. " Because they never walked on the moon at all, and it was cheaper to reuse the same background and making a larger area would have been harder and cost more. I read a cool paper on it once, where they compared photos of "different landing locations" that where the same just had the rocks in different places but the hills and everything else were perfect matches."Is the quote true? No. The premise is equally preposterous.

I just wanted to ask a quick question..if Neil Armstrong was the FIRST man on the moon then who was filming him? No one in particular. He was filmed by a 16 mm camera fixed inside the starboard window of the LM, and videoed by a TV camera, fixed to the MESA beside the ladder of the LM.

Has the Hubble or any subsequent flyover produced any images of equipment left behind at the landing sites? I am sure you probably know by now that tjhe answer is yes....pertaining to the fly-over. No pertaining to any telescope, Hubble, or Earth-based.

To me, just the fact that they got to the moon in the first place and then set foot on it, is enough! It was, for Apollo 11. To expect them to go for a nice long stroll around the moons surface and maybe even a little jog up one of the hills, and then take a brisk walk back to the old lunar module, is just ridiculous. That's pretty much what subsequent missions did. It was called Lunar exploration, which was the purpose of the program.

No one in particular. He was filmed by a 16 mm camera fixed inside the starboard window of the LM, and videoed by a TV camera, fixed to the MESA beside the ladder of the LM. So there were TWO spacecraft on the moon? That took quite a bit of coordination for the camera to be situated just right so Mr. Armstrong would be centered just perfectly in the viewfinder. Absolutely fascinating (not to mention slightly improbable but that's just me) Belial: I am not sure I really deserved such a snotty answer. I asked this in sincerity.

So there were TWO spacecraft on the moon? No.. the camera was attached to the lander. That took quite a bit of coordination for the camera to be situated just right so Mr. Armstrong would be centered just perfectly in the viewfinder. Absolutely fascinating (not to mention slightly improbable but that's just me) All it took was fixing the the camera before launch to be focused on the ladder, and then locking it in place. Not hard at all.
