"Cosmic bruises" suggest other universes

Scientists have discovered evidence that parallel universes 'jostled' our own in the very distant past.
Patterns found in the background microwave radiation are believed to indicate where other universes collided with our own at least four times, its a signficant find in favour of the idea that ours is not the only universe in existence.
Scientists say that they have found evidence that our universe was 'jostled' by other parallel universes in the distant past. The incredible claim emerged after they studied patterns in the cosmic microwave background radiation (CMB) – the after-effects of the Big Bang.

Please can we stay on topic. This is NOT a topic about evolution, nor is this the Spirituality vs Skepticism forum. Thank you.

I'm wondering if there's a large-scale mathematical structure to the multiverse, or is it just a bunch of bubble universes floating around chaotically? I was again thinking about fractals in relation to the multiverse and came upon this video. It's not exactly what I had in mind, but I'm wondering if some kind of similar structure would define a multiverse. This video looks a lot better on youtube, full-screen. (click on the Youtube logo.)

I would guess that yes, the Multiverse (if such a thing exists) would have a fractal geometry. I'm not sure ``what'' would be fractal-ized, however. The distribution of constituent Universes? The extensions of constituent dimensions? Bounda... [More]

Thoughtful reply, sepulchrave.

This may sound crazy, but why is the Universe Black?

This may sound crazy, but why is the Universe Black? It's not. It is probably a pale white-pink colour. The night sky is black because - according to conventional theory - since the Universe expanded from the big bang there has not yet been enough time for the light from stars in every direction to reach Earth. Hence most of the night sky is without a bright source of light, and therefore appears black.

Sorry if this has already been said but isn't this just possible evidence that the big bang had a few anomalies, i.e. more concentrated areas of radiation and matter than other areas. This fits in with the theory that there could of been infinitely many universes created with the big bang exiting parallel to each other with each universe having different physical laws, dimensions and different amounts of matter, anti-matter. It sounds as if I am agreeing with the OP but I'm not. The idea is that they exist parallel to each other they don't exist like many bubbles that bump into each other whic... [More]
