A motorist has reported seeing a mysterious object flying low over East Kilbride.
On Sunday, January 8th, a motorist on the East Kilbride Expressway spotted a pear shaped object in the sky. The witness, George King, explained; "I was sitting in my car, facing west, when I noticed two orange lights, one smaller than the other, flying low. I thought it was a police helicopter but it kept coming with no noise and suddenly shot up skywards right in front of me. I jumped out of (my) car to phone my son and to the left of me I saw a large, pear-shaped, bubble type thing heading towards Hamilton/Strathaven." UFO expert Ron Halliday says that there have been several other sightings over the years in the East Kilbride area and that it is "somewhat of a hotspot for UFO activity."
A motorist on the East Kilbride Expressway has reported spotting a mysterious object in the sky. George King reported the mystery on the UK UFO Sightings website, following his unexplained sighting on Sunday, January 2 at around 8pm.

I am interested in sightings over Scotland though considering how the US tend to fly their most secretive stuff through our airspace up there when passing through That's very interesting, I have never heard this before. Do you have any more information/links? I would like to find out more.

That's very interesting, I have never heard this before. Do you have any more information/links? I would like to find out more. Well, RAF Macrihanish has been used for some fairly secretive purposes, including being an (alleged) outstation for those Secret Spy Planes that everyone talks about all the time. -- And more

Scotland. Known for medieval castles, highlands, islands, clans, kilts and one large lake where a legendary beastie, the Loch Ness Monster, allegedly resides. http://www.aolnews.com/2011/01/21/pear-shaped-ufo-sighted-in-scotland/

In actual fact, given that this sighting took place in Scotland, I would have expected a haggis or porridge shaped UFO.

Well, RAF Macrihanish has been used for some fairly secretive purposes, including being an (alleged) outstation for those Secret Spy Planes that everyone talks about all the time. -- And more Yes exactly what I was going to post pretty much anyway, but yes Machrihanish features in a lot of the reports. The recent news reports of 'Extraordinary Rendition' in the case of people captured by US intelligence and taken away feature Scotland as a stopping point. Just all part of many reports, some beyond Macrihanish that indicate activities in Scotland, relating to the US military and intelligence se... [More]

How true or accurate this is I don't know, I can only do what anyone else can and that is read all the available material. and form an opinion. But whatever the reality, they have been doing 'something' up there, beyond running a simply NATO station, and quite possible still are in some capacity. Apparently Machrihanish is up for sale, so I doubt anything is happening now. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/glasgow_and_west/7656482.stm here it is advertised on their property agents' website:- http://www.djdeloitte.co.uk/uk.aspx?doc=32370 So if you are rich and have some spare cash you could b... If extraterrestial life does exist why do we only see them as a small flicker in the sky,why do aliens always hav to sneak up on us...??R they trying to hide from the humans??Wudn't they b curious to find out if there's life on other planets??If there were any such things as Aliens we wud hav spotted them by now, this idea of little green men from other planets sounds ridiculas..Infact hadn't it been said that if there was life on other planets it wud b in the form of bugs or insects?
