Will Apophis hit Earth in 2036 ?

The answer is most likely 'no' however its exact path may be more complicated than previously thought.
NASA had previously investigated the likelihood that the asteroid Apophis would collide with us in 2029 and reached the conclusion that the chances of that happening were practically zero. Now however Russian scientists believe the asteroid could hit a 'gravitational keyhole' which means the asteroid could swing back and hit us in 2036. NASA have commented on this to confirm that while it is possible the chances are still tiny - about 1 in 250,000.
In 2004, NASA scientists announced that there was a chance that Apophis, an asteroid larger than two football fields, could smash into Earth in 2029. A few additional observations and some number-crunching later, astronomers noted that the chance of the planet-killer hitting Earth in 2029 was nearly zilch.

According to the apocalypse-oids, we won't be here after 2012, so do we care? Considering the sources of the claim, yes, I do care. A lot.

Don't worry, asteroid won't hit Earth ... oh wait! A few additional observations and some number-crunching later, astronomers noted that the chance of the planet-killer hitting Earth in 2029 was nearly zilch. Now, reports out of Russia say that scientists there estimate Apophis will collide with Earth on April 13, 2036. These reports conflict on the probability of such a doomsday event, but the question remains: How scared should we be? “Technica... [More]

I really dont know what to say about this because it can put our people in a panic but then again let the NASA and THE GOVERNMENT take care of this problem because as sorry as if sounds it could happen but then again it wont happen so we the people are gonna have to leave up to THE GOVERNMET and NASA.

Given we aren't all dead from Nuclear Warfare, we may be in trouble. We truly need to invest in protecting our planet from extra-terrestrial objects. Common' NASA!
