In a bid to share what it hears with the world an artist has had an ear surgically implanted in his arm.
The ear was placed under the skin with plans to insert a microphone inside it through which people can listen to everything it picks up. Australian artist Stelarc took ten years to find a surgeon to perform the procedure and almost lost his arm due to infection during the process.
A performance artist has had a human ear grown beneath the skin of his arm as part of a project to share what it hears with people around the world.

So they implanted a mold of an ear under the skin. All so this guy can attach a microphone and post it to the internet. I personally don't want to listen to this guy taking a leak.

I personally don't want to listen to this guy taking a leak. It could have been worse, they could have implanted an eye

Heh, I remember studying Stelarc when I was at university. He's certainly a strange individual, but I must say I was intrigued by the work he was doing.

I seem to be the only person who thinks this is awesome. Am I weird?

I seem to be the only person who thinks this is awesome. Am I weird? Nah, just superficial, egotistic and child-like in the worst sense. Kidding. That’s my opinion about the “artist”. I don’t understand this type of “art”, all I can see is craving for attention and having no real talent, so... I wish the money that was wasted on this bizarrerie was spent on something useful or at least something less idiotic.

Understandable it took him 10 years to find a surgeon who would do it. A hack and a quack together at last. This type of crap should cost the surgeon his license.
