A new treaty has been proposed to disallow the use of weapons in space for humans and for aliens.
The Outer Space Security and Development Treaty of 2011 invites UN members to be signatories and is designed to create a framework "that will assure and verify that space is and will remain a neutral realm from which all classes of space-based weapons are banned in perpetuity".
The proposed space treaty has roots dating back nearly 40 years, when Rosin worked with Wernher von Braun, the "father of rocketry," who was the chief architect of the giant Saturn V rockets that propelled American astronauts to the moon.
