US develops software to analyse metaphors

US intelligence aims to use the nuances of language to reveal who may be a potential enemy.
English is a difficult language to master and the US intelligence community is betting on that difficulty in its latest battle against terrorism. A little known agency is creating a database of metaphors and will use it to determine someone's threat level based on their choice of metaphor.
A little-known agency is developing The Metaphor Program to "reveal the underlying beliefs and world-views of members of a culture" by examining the subtle differences in their choice of metaphors.
