The largest known fruiting body of a fungus has been found on the underside of a tree in China.
The massive fungus is 10m long, is 20 years old and weighs half a tonne. "We were not specifically looking for this fungus; we did not know the fungus can grow so huge," said Professor Yu-Cheng Dai who recorded the first example of the fungus in 2008.
The most massive fruiting body of any fungus yet documented has been discovered growing on the underside of a tree in China. The fruiting body, which is equivalent to the mushrooms produced by other fungi species, is up to 10m long, 80cm wide and weighs half a tonne.

Put another way, this humongous fungus would encompass 1,665 football fields, or nearly four square miles (10 square kilometers) of turf." More from Scientific American: "The discovery of this giant Armillaria ostoyae in 1998 heralded a new record holder for the title of the ... [More]

China is awesome!!! (Info gained solely from Dynasty Warriors 2-7 PS2 & PS3 respectively) If it wasn't for the political situation in China I'd love to tour that country tbh. I've always admired their cuisine, their extremely varied scenery, their history, and how they had a very highly developed society over two millennia ago.

Their cuisine... that's means cooking/frying anything that's too slow to run away. If you ever want to go watch that giant fungus, then you beter forget about it. They will have eaten it long before you arrive.
