Researchers have announced the recent discovery of a new species of giant warrior wasp.
Found on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi the male wasp has jaws so large that when open they are longer than its legs. "Its jaws are so large that they wrap up either side of the head when closed. When the jaws are open they are actually longer than the male's front legs," says museum director Lynn Kimsey.
Kimsey added, "The jaws are big enough to wrap around the female's thorax and hold her during mating. " Kimsey discovered the so-called warrior wasp on the Mekongga Mountains in southeastern Sulawesi during a recent biodiversity expedition.

Direct Live from Sulawesi, the basic wasp model (a worker, not a male) already 38 mm long without the sting that's 5 mm by itself. Normally this one is not aggressive, but a handful of them can kill somebody. I try to imagine how big is the freshly discovered monster.

If you think stinging insects in your garden are big, consider Dalara garuda, a newly identified wasp that's five times bigger than most other wasps, according to a recent Natural History Museum, Berlin, press release. You can see the size difference in the above picture. http://news.discovery.com/animals/enormous-new-wasp-110908.html

wow is this another experament like the "killer bees".... we should stop play god, for our own sake. Did you even read the article or are you just throwing in random opinions for the sake of it? We should breed more puppies and use them as living radiators in winter.
