The dilapidated walkways at El Caminito Del Rey in Spain have been attracting daredevil tourists.
The rickety platforms and paths are suspended 100m up the side of a sheer cliff face with large portions of them missing. Originally built in 1905 and known as the King's Pathway, the trail was built to provide a way for workers to reach the nearby hydroelectric plant.
It snakes its way along cliff edges high up in El Chorro Gorge, thirty miles from Malaga. Much of the one-metre-wide walkway is crumbing away with rusting supports, gaping holes, no handrails and sections that have completely fallen down.
If you like heights then watch this.... I just posted a link to that trail for MissWW to watch the other day. :-) My link Oh man... that almost made me hyperventilate... I had to turn it off. I'm such a wuss when it comes to heights.
It was probably built by ancient aliens with anti gravity technology... Yet such primitive construction. Those lazy Aliens. That's what he said. If you like heights then watch this.... My link Free climbing? Oh hell no!
Yeah there were deaths because they weren't experienced climbers. Contrary to what people may believe, you do need climbing experience when it comes to this kind of crazy stuff.
I'm all for a bit of an adreneline kick.............................................................................but there is no way i would do that
