Scientsts calculate pi to 10 trillion digits

Alexander Yee and Shigeru Kondo managed to break their previous record of 5 trillion digits.
Despite battling hard drive failures and disruptions caused by the Japanese earthquake, the pair succeeded in smashing their previous record using a custom-built computer and special software designed specifically for the task.As the title of the announcement on their website - "Same program, same computer, just a longer wait. . . " - suggests, it was only a matter of time before the record was smashed.
