Sally Morgan challenged to prove abilities

A special experiment has been devised to help test Morgan's claim to possess psychic abilities.
The test is backed by James Randi and constitutes the first phase towards claiming his million dollar prize for proving that psychic abilities exist. Professor Chris French has been enlisted to design and conduct the experiment at the Merseyside Skeptics Society in Liverpool. "There are still question marks hanging over Sally with regards to how she derives her insights during her readings," said science writer Simon Singh. "By agreeing to our test, Sally has an opportunity to reassure any fans who might doubt that she is genuine in her communication with their deceased loved ones."
A celebrity psychic who claims to speak with the dead in sellout shows across the country has been challenged by sceptics to prove her supernatural powers. They have invited TV "star psychic" Sally Morgan to demonstrate her ability to connect with the spirit world in a specially designed test in Liverpool on Monday.

Well, Jerry, speaking of ill-fitting shoes, you and I are in agreement that the following is an unsound inference. Just because people think someone makes a living from cold reading doesn't mean they don't believe some form of spirits exist I discussed the converse, that those who believe there are no spirits will likely conclude that a spirit medium is faking it or deluded. That people exist to make that inference, people who believe there are no spirits, is directly revealed by public statements and postings here at UM. Nice shoe, though. I would conditionally agree with you that if Ms Morga... [More]

You were accusing some people here of doubting Sally because they don't believe in spirits, not "that those who believe there are no spirits will likely conclude that a spirit medium is faking it or deluded". Not? Presumably, you are contrasting the quote with this earlier statement of mine, The bottom line is that you believe there are no spirits for Ms Morgan to contact, so in your view she is either faking it or she is deluded. Is there some difference between my two statements that you would like to debate with me? This is a discussion board, Jerry. Everything that is posted here is the po... [More]

Not? Presumably, you are contrasting the quote with this earlier statement of mine, Is there some difference between my two statements that you would like to debate with me? No, it's clear what you were saying to people here with your quote. This is a discussion board, Jerry. Everything that is posted here is the poster's opinion, at best, what in the poster's view is likely. You're not teaching me anything. It is not a "shot" for a poster to say that (s)he believes differently than someone else. It is not an "accusation" to express doubts about the well-foundedness of someone else's inference... [More]

You flat out said someone ("You") thinks she is faking or delusional because "they" don't believe in spirits. Yes, Jerry because that's true. There are people who believe that there are no spirits. Whoever believes there are no spirits necessarily believes that Sally Morgan does not communicate with spirits. What you falsely claimed about me, however, was that I had written the unsound converse of that, whoever disbelieves Sally Morgan's spirit-communications does not believe in spirits. I don't know who that's directed at, but it's a blind leap in reasoning, and an unfair one. Just because pe... [More]

Actually I hope you guys will come to a peaceful ending! Meh, to much obvious backpedaling. It's not worth the effort.

hahaha so someone was feeding her the info. Why am I not surprised. I doubt she will take the James Randi test too she will come out with some garbage like how her powers are not meant to be used for science or some other lame excuse. If she does take it which I doubt then she will fail it badly because she is full of s**t!
