Spanish passage tombs saved ?

The economic downturn in Spain has halted construction over the ancient passage tombs.
The passage tombs had been threatened by construction work but might now survive thanks to thousands of homes and other residences that are sitting empty due to the fact that no-one can afford them. On the downside the lack of funding also means that there isn't enough to pay for the proper study and exploration of the 5,000 year old passages that are believed to be Europe's most extensive grouping of tholos dolmens.
Spain's pre-historic burial chambers have survived invasion, war, a long dictatorship and a property bubble which paved over vast tracts of the country.

Preservation of historical treasures like this should be a priority of the government. I'm surprised that an outside entity hasn't studied them yet.
