Dr Mike Diprose has invented a new device for killing weeds that works by zapping them with electricity.
The device is able to kill off weeds without the need for pesticides by literally boiling the water in the plant's cells. While this is perfect for getting rid of the weeds in your garden it does come with some element of risk - the zapper uses the same voltage as an electric chair and if it touches a person is likely to kill them by stopping their heart and raising their body temperature past boiling point.
It could be the ultimate dream machine for gardeners – an electric gadget that kills weeds in seconds without using harmful pesticides or causing backache from bending over borders.
