New research suggests that scorpion venom may hold the key to tackling drug-resistant bacteria.
As superbugs such as MRSA become increasingly problematic, developing new ways of dealing with antibiotic-resistant infections has become a new priority for scientists. Researchers at China's Wuhan University have been exploring the use of substances contained within scorpion venom as a potential solution and have reported some promising results using mice.

"They showed it's possible to take this peptide and turn it into an an antimicrobial peptide that can kill a broad range of bacteria that are harmful to humans," said immunologist Michael Zasloff. "The infections that we create on the backs of mice are not all that different from those that occur on humans."
It may sound like snake oil, but a new study suggests scorpion venom contains a substance that can fend off drug-resistant bacteria, including the deadly MRSA.

I wonder if its all scorpions or certain ones, I'm not a venom expert but I've always believed that not all venom works the same way unless peptide is in every poison sack.

They already found a sea sponge near australia that works perfectly in helping to kill antibiotic resistant bacteria, it completely removes their resistance.

Patent was bought by big pharma and put on the shelf??? Probably, unfortunately I never heard anything else about the sponges either. Kind of like Ibogain, and how it cures opiate(s) and other forms of serious addiction. No one ever hears anything about that either.
