The remarkable venue is painstakingly put together from hundreds of thousands of tons of ice and snow.
Each year, Hotel de Glace is reconstructed with a new design theme, drawing in crowds of people eager to catch a glimpse of it. Everything inside is made from ice including the walls, floors, beds, tables and chairs. To keep visitors from freezing during their stay, thick bedding and seat covers are provided. With a total of 44 rooms including a chapel and a bar, the hotel provides something for everyone.
This year's theme for the hotel is "A Journey to the Center of Winter" which is inspired by the Jules Verne classic "Journey to the Center of the Earth". The hotel is due to open to visitors in March.
Canada's Hotel de Glace, the unique ice hotel, is back this season for its 13th annual reconstruction. The magical castle-like lodge is built each year with a new themed design out of hundred of thousands of tons of ice and snow.
