The Belgian post office has launched a special set of stamps that taste and smell like chocolate.
Belgium is well known for its delicious chocolates but in a new stunt by the country's post office their love for the treat is taken perhaps a little too far. The limited run of postage stamps will see 500,000 being printed on special paper that smells like cocoa and which has been covered in varnish to make it resemble chocolate.

Five different designs will be printed to celebrate the country's most renowned chocolatiers. Experts from Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland were all involved in the collection's creation.
More than 500,000 stamps are being printed on special paper imbued with the aroma of cocoa and covered in a varnish to look and smell like chocolate.

I don't think many of those stamps will actually be used as stamps...

Now there's some clever marketing to get people to use snail mail. Next step, perhaps the aroma of chocolate in fountain pen ink, scratch-scented writing paper, and the entire process of letter writing could be revitalized ... not to mention, the consumption of chocolate candies.
