Genetic experimentation and augmentation could create real-life X-Men within as little as 30 years.
Evolution may no longer be the major factor in the development of our species according to a two-day summit in which scientists talked to the MoD's Development Concepts and Doctrine Centre about the potential for future advances. Instead, genetic modification could produce superhuman capabilities not dissimilar to those seen in the X-Men comics or in TV series such as Heroes."Advancements in gene technology could lead to a class of genetically superior humans by 2045," a report on the summit stated.
