According to reports, three armed dolphins have escaped from a Ukrainian military training facility.
The bizarre headline has been circulating the web following claims that the escaped marine mammals have been trained to attack humans and are armed with knives and head-mounted machine guns. This isn't the first time a story like this has surfaced either, it has long been suspected that the Ukrainian military have been experimenting with training dolphins for deployment in armed combat. Other countries including the US have also experimented with similar concepts in the past.
At present it is unclear if the escape story is genuine or whether the whole thing is an exercise in political point scoring. The Ukrainian government has naturally denied the allegations, instead dismissing the claim as a "fabrication" and a "gross provocation."[!gad]The bizarre headline has been circulating the web following claims that the escaped marine mammals have been trained to attack humans and are armed with knives and head-mounted machine guns. No, it’s not a promo for the latest sci-fi movie. There are claims circulating that three dolphins have escaped from a Ukrainian military training facility armed with head-mounted guns and knives and trained to attack humans.
