World's smallest radio controlled helicopter

A tiny helicopter made from components from mobile phones has been revealed at a huge Tokyo toy show.
Weighing just 11 grams and measuring 6.4cm in length, the miniature device is capable of flying at a range of 15ft for 5 minutes. The miniature helicopter is remarkable both due to it's small size and because of how it's been put together.

"Japan's ageing population made us think of developing a toy targeting adults," said Naoki Nakagawa of maker CCP. "Ten or twenty years ago, helicopter-toys could cost a lot of money. Those who couldn't afford it at the time can now make their childhood dream come true at a reasonable price."
A tiny toy helicopter made from cannibalised smartphones has been among the main attractions at a huge toy show in Tokyo.

If they could keep it in the air a little longer it will make a perfect drone. Won't see it coming.

They are already using parts from smartphones? lets hope the helicopter lasts longer than the phone did. Come on boys, stick a tiny camera on the front of one of them and imaging the fun you can have....hey! I think I might patent that myself.

I would imagine the "nanoization" trend of technology could eventually allow us better opportunity to explore the universe. Far easier to accelerate a marble sized spacecraft.

Next comes the hi-res camera. Perhaps we should all learn to shoot skeet.

I've owned a few little RC copters. Good fun for a few minutes then you never use them again. Pretty cool using smartphone parts though.

If it keeps them from licking eyeballs, great!
